Maquette zevenkamp Area of Nesselande
At the end of metro line B you’ll find the area Nesselande. This is a neighborhood in the Prince Alexander district of Rotterdam. In 1995 the municipalities transferred the territory to the development of a vinex location. Fourth Memorandum on Spatial Planning Extra,(a.k.a. Vinex)is a housing plan from 1993. They build large-scale new housing estates on the outskirts of various cities. The start of the construction of Nesselande began in 2000.

The district contains an 800 meter long beach with a boulevard on the enlarged Zevenhuizerplas.
In 2016, a water ski run on the Zevenhuizerplas was realized and opened. Nature lovers, sailors, sun worshipers and all kinds of water sports enthusiasts can indulge themselves here. The 178-hectare lake forms the separation between the Rotterdam metropolis and the smaller municipality of Zuidplas.
Before entering the boulevard you’ll find a residential and shopping complex with 3 residential towers of 65 meters high, the sub-projects Miami, Barcelona and Copenhagen. The Boulevard Nesselande shopping center opened on November 20, 2009.
A connection to the metro network of Rotterdam. To this end, the Caland line was extended to the new Nesselande metro station, which was opened in August 2005.
The street names in the neighborhood come from artists (sub-area Tuinstad), millers (sub-area Waterwijk) and islands in the Mediterranean (sub-area Seaside Resort).

Interview 1 : yes I used to swim in the lake with my class and I like to stroll around with my dad.

the postcard was a really nice assignment because could interpret it in my own way with the area as main inspiration.

I first wanted to make paper out of grass.

u cut the grass from my area and washed it at home.
after it was clean I cut the grass into pieces.
I then boiled it for about 13 minutes till the water was black from the grass.
I got my sleeve and disposed the dirty water.
the next step was to blend de grass. but I did got a blender yet so I decided to do it with a hand blender.
the result ended up in chunky grass pieces. I then got a bucket of water twice as deep as my windowscreen. and put the pulp in to the water. gently I spread the grass on top of the window screen and left over night to dry
